What is our Monthly Poultry Crate?
The monthly poultry crate is our version of a meat CSA (community supported agriculture). It is an opportunity to eat rotationally grazed poultry fed local non-gmo soy-free feed and insects, nuts, fruit, seeds, and dark green pasture. It results in healthy, nutrient-dense meat for your table.
How does it work?
As a member, you come once a month to the farm to pick up your crate of forage-fed poultry. Our crates are about choice. The once-a-month crate starts with a base of 4-5 whole chickens (approximately 20 pounds) with your choice of offal &/or feet (up to 4 servings). Monthly options include switching one chicken out for four quail or one rabbit. Seasonal options include switching two chickens out for one turkey (10-15 pounds), pheasant, duck, or goose.
We ask members to record what they take each month, not to monitor them, but to assist us in adjusting our production and better planning for the future.
Length & Pick Ups
Your commitment is for six months. June 18 - Nov 22, 2024. Currently, we only offer on-farm pickup. Choose either Tuesday or Friday from 2-8 pm. We aim to be flexible, so contact us to make other arrangements if you cannot make your grocery day.
